Although Michael buble is good you still can not beat the one and only Bobby Darin .I think Kevin Spacey did a fantastic job portraying him .I think the movie should have done much better then it did .If I could fig out how to put the codes on her for you tube I would put the clip on here.

I was spinning the dial last night and came across "Beyond the Sea" on IFC - I hadn't seen it before. I couldn't take my eyes off of it...it was like seeing a dead animal on the side of the road: it's pretty gross and you don't want to stare at it but you can't look away either. How in world did this movie get made? Was Kevin Spacey on drugs while making this thing? Were studio executives on an off-site retreat when it was released? This movie was so bad that I staye... MORE

I caught about 45 minutes of "Beyond The Sea" on TV, the film wherein Kevin Spacey gives new meaning to the term "triple threat": as an actor, writer, and director, he threatens to lower the already-perilously low bar for music-related biopics. There truly isn't a less-than-ludicrous moment in the section of the movie I was able to sit through, culminating when he throws a tantrum when he's "robbed" of an Oscar. Before we hooked up the gizmo that lets you play your iPod in the car ('92 model, cassette deck, no CD player), we used to listen to oldies on CBS-FM (101.1) till we lost the signal, then to a cassette or two, and then, when we got to the Hartford area, I'd slide the dial up to 102.9, WDRC ("dreck," haha), with a similar oldies format.
