Well, I saw Dylan from up close tonight. Got to hear 4 new tunes I had never heard him play, all from Modern Times - Rollin' & Tumblin', Workingman's Blues #2, When the Deal Goes Down, and Thunder On The Mountain. It's kinda cool that Bob is the only vocalist in the band- None of his bandmembers even have a vocal mic on stage! I would love to see him play some guitar again, though. Last week was Bob Dylan's birthday. Now I havent always been a fan of him I believe I used to refer to him as "Mumblin' Joe". But like a taste for the finer things in life my appreciation for him has acquired with age. If you havent yet heard his past two albums "Modern Times" and "Love and Theft" I encourage you to go out and get them right now... Watching the video of "When the Deal Goes Down" just now, thanks to Yahoo, I was reminded of the Joyce Carol Oates' short story, "Where are You Going, Where Have You Been?", which she dedicated to "Bobby (Dylan)," and which you can find at the website below. http://www.usfca.edu/~southerr/wgoing2.html If you haven't read the story, it was based on a true story.
