All Music GuideBeat Goes On reissued Bo Diddley's eponymous debut and his 1962 effort Hey! Bo Diddley on one compact disc in 1996. Although these two records don't necessarily sit well together -- the first is sublime, the second notoriously uneven -- it's still a nice way to pick them up on CD, especially since the sound and packaging are first-rate. However, the Chess issue that combines Bo Diddley and Go Bo Diddley on one CD is a better bet, since those two records -- his first two -- work better together.
