There really isn't much more to sayy today, as it's all been said. Only Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee and Little Richard are still with us of the originators.

On a cloudy, humid day, I made the trek out to Randall's Island for a day of garage-rock, its anticedents and offspring, organized by Little Steven. I caught The Pretty Things, Nancy Sinatra, The Raveonettes, and the monument that was Bo Diddley. It had been a long time since I'd seen him play (the night he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Jazz Fest in New Orleans?), and he was obviously ailing; he played seated.
