Blues Traveler currently reside in the "Where are they now" file, but travel back with me to 1995. Blues Traveler was a cross-format smash, and you couldn't turn around without hearing one of their songs: either "Run Around" or "Hook," both of which were irresistible pop rock gems. I kinda liked the whole meta-songwriting thing going on in "Hook": the whole first verse is about how he can put together a song that means nothing, but the hook will bring you, the listener... MORE

A few of you may remember John Popper being pulled over and arrested earlier this year, when police found the inside of his car looking like Suge Knights office. Well Popper appears to be off the hook on this one, when a judge granted a conditional dismissal of the marijuana charges. The misdemeanor marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges will be dropped as long as Popper avoids being caught with the illegal substance again in the next year. Before anyone cries fou... MORE

SEATTLE (Reuters) - State troopers arrested Blues Traveler lead singer John Popper after finding handguns, rifles, a switchblade knife and drugs inside his car after it was stopped for speeding, officials said on Thursday.
One may wonder when a man has 30 pockets.

John Popper, the harmonica playing frontman for the band Blues Traveler, was arrested near Spokane, Washington today when the vehicle he owned (and was a passenger in at the time) was clocked at 111 mph. A police dog searched the vehicle, finding numerous hidden compartments. Inside those compartments were four rifles, nine handguns and a switchblade knife. Twenty Below Zero Wind-Chill reminds me...hey, I really miss Summer. So I dug out my old Summer music, which always included Blues Traveler, to try to warm myself up. BT brings back memories from the old HORDE Fest road trips, and smoking. Those days are gone, now, as I have quit both smoking and having friends. Ah, the music is working, I can feel my fingertips again.
