Noise Pop is a festival thrown in San Francisco....that starts this Wednesday until Sunday. While everyone bites their teeth for SXSW, San Fran welcomes a niche pick of indie bands like Magnetic Fields, M. So I started to compile a top 10 list and it turned out rather boring and full of things I'm sure you've all heard before. So here's a list of a random number of notable things from 2007. Blitzen Trapper - Wild Mountain NationI dont care that they sound like the Grateful Dead, there's enough edge on many of the songs to increase the rock content. I am LOVING these guys. It's like if Pavement meets my morning jacket...i can't stop listening to this record! I haven't been excited about stumbling across a new band(to me i mean) since The Hold Steady.
No more talk...i will play a couple of sons...resistance is futile, you will love it

Probably my favorite type of music can be described ashook-laden-non-complacent song writing. Basically, I like music that's catchy as hell and always trying new thing. Oh, and if it doesn't repeat the same chorus ten times then that's a plus, ahem "My Sweet Lord."
