AMG Review of Hot and Nasty
Al Campbell
All Music GuideThe Collectables compilation Hot and Nasty is a ten-track budget-priced set that contains some of Black Oak Arkansas' well-known oogie rock tracks from the early to mid-'70s, including "When Electricity Came to Arkansas," "Jim Dandy," and "Hot and Nasty." As budget-line collections go, Hot and Nasty isn't bad, especially since it contains the original versions of these tracks, but better collections are available for not much more money. Track down Hot & Nasty: The Best of Black Oak Arkansas on Rhino, which contains eight extra tracks.
