When I revisited this song a few months ago, I just was in awe of how Billy could play. This is one of those songs that could go on for 15, 20 minutes and I wouldn't get tired of it, yah know what I mean? Funkin outrageous. Nobody could play like him.
You heard "Short Fat Fanny" by Little Richard before, but you should watch & listen to this superior version. Billy was working for Little Richard when this video was made but i couldn´t find any reference of this song being released so maybe it was just a video edit.
Ha ha, ha! Amid all the comings and goings, I forgot that I turned 2 MOG years old on the 10th. So cliched, but my how time flies when you're having a great time!Thought I'd celebrate with a slice of the first slab of vinyl I ever bought with my own hard earned green. help yourself to a piece of cake, go ahead...I insist!
In over 40 years of playing music, Billy Preston crossed paths with many greats, including Sam Cooke. He recorded this burning b-3 instrumental for Sam's label SAR in '63, and just a few years later he was hanging out with the Beatles..Damn. Happy Friday
I found this on the net and thought I'd release it into the MOS, since it's kind of rare to find this in MP3 form. Here's Billy's fist Apple single like you may have never heard it. It's a stripped down alternate take. This album was produced by George Harrison and I believe he had 1/2 of Blind Faith helping him out as well as Keith Richards and some other friends. So enjoy the stripped down raw...
