Billy Idol was my first exposure to any incarnation of punk at the tender age of I don't know, 4 - 7. Dropping my GI Joes or He-Men, I used to pump my fist at the MTV, mimmicking my first "idol" and cry out with a rebel yell every time he graced our old cabinet-style tv set. Anyway, this supplied the foundation for my further love of rock, punk and anything in between. He stold the show in the ...
It's the first week of November so naturally our thoughts turn to ... Christmas! And the holidays wouldn't be right without a traditional yuletide song covered by an '80s new wave icon like, say, Billy Idol, now wouldn't it? And before you can even say "Jack Frost," yes, he has a whole CD of Christmas tunes, just released. Perhaps the perfect compliment to his 2005 CD, "Devil's Playground."Full...
It seems that Billy Idol's releasing a disk of Christmas tune covers on November 17th. Now you can enjoy Billy's versions of classic Xmas hits such as ??Frosty The Snowman?? and ??Silent Night??. Nothing says "Christmas Joy!" like Billy Idol's sneering, contorted facial expressions. You won't be enjoying Billy's reworked phrase "It's a nice day for a ??White Christmas??, it's a nice day to staa...

I expected to see classics like "Anyway You Want It" and "Aqualung" but there are some inclusions that are just totally awesome. "Painkiller" bitches! Heaviest song ever and a blast to play, even if I can't sing it for shit. I was also stoked to see "Rebel G...

OK, OK, Billy Idol does'nt get many spins 'round here anymore. He's collectin' dust somewhere near the Kiss discs. But, this remake of the old William Bell soul ramp is a nice slice of Idol's best moment. Ragtime piano, hot backup singers, and a super-synthed up lead axe passage (ala Steve Stevens) creates a very rewatchable vid. Dig in.
I was on vacation in Ontario from May 26th - June 14th and didn't have a chance to do any mogging; so to say I feel a little out-of touch is an understatement. Looks like Mog has gone through an upgrade and I like what I see so far (though I'm hearing some whisperings of posting problems).Anyways, after being home for the past week I'm going to be going out of town again this weekend for a fri...
