A stage collapse at the Big Valley Jamboree country music festival in Canada Saturday night (August 1, 2009) has left one dead and 75 people injured, including Billy Currington’s bassist Alex Stevens. The stage collapsed as the result of extreme weather that consisted of high winds and heavy rain. CNN reports that Billy Currington was on stage when the storm hit, and his tour manager was lit.

Country Weekly is reporting that Billy Currington has cancelled his next four concert appearances at the request of his doctor. Currington suffered a mild concussion, scrapes, and bruises at last weekend’s Big Valley Jamboree accident.
