Different kind of Friday post

It has been warm here in Minnesota as of late, and warm weather makes me slow down. I went out for a run yesterday and found myself feeling rather miserable. Temperatures were close to 90, but here in Minnesota it is the humidity that kills you. Street Gospels

I finally bought Bedouin Soundclash's Street Gospels album, amen. Love this guy's unusual voice. For favourites (like 'em all) it's a toss-up between Trinco Dog & Nico on the Night Train, so I'm going with Trinco Dog for the bongo bits, and the dog theme, because I seem to be meeting a lot of awesome dogs lately.

It's going on the shopping list for sure; until it's in my hot little hands (figuratively speaking), here's the lively Living in Jungles.

Bedouin Soundclash originally from a small city in north east Ontario, Canada they now call Toronto home. That could account for their unique blend of styles, I have heard people try to classify them as Rock, Reggae, Ska or even Indie. I don't think that any of these descriptions does them justice.

I really love this song, it calms me down on days like this (which felt like it would never end, and so far hasn't). At least I'm smiling now!

Bedouin Soundclash - Cedar Street Courtyard (SXSW 2009; March 20)

Despite the fact that the line to get into Cedar Street Courtyard extended down the block, and the music to me brought back memories of my instruction in the proper way to “skank,” I was disappointed to see that the boys of Bedouin Soundclash seemed to have more energy and bounce than the crowd.
