Brazilian bossa nova sensation, Babel Gilberto announced her plans to sweep in and show us that bossa nova is still alive and kicking, just the fad-dance associated with it has faded away. 4hero puts a dub spin on some Bebel Gilberto. Perhaps not a classic dub in the reggae sense, but dub in the dance music sense, which of course owes inspiration to the Jamaican originators. This song works for me on so many levels and in so many moods. Not quite dance-able, not quite relaxing, it just bores into my head, a unique take on Brazilian music. Let me know what you think.
