A little over a year ago I was given a hard drive packed full of rare and out-of-print reggae records, 45s, 7-inches, etc. Most of the stuff was encoded from vinyl and many included cover art scans. I am still making my way through it all. It has taken me so long that not all of the items remain commercially unavailable. Many I have only seen as expensive imports. I'm so fortunate...and as a result, sad about this upcoming weekend. I'm going to Reggae on the River through a work opportunity...but also found out I got a hook up for a standby ticket to Toronto for Cariban for only $135!!!!! I've never been to Toronto, and have heard Caribana is off the hooook...but, it's not guaranteed that I'd get on the flight, and I might end up spending all day at the airport (not to mention having to take a few days off unexpectedly).
