Baden Powell was a musical prodigy who grew up to become a major figure in Brazilian popular music (MPB) during the 1960s and 1970s, and one of the world's greatest guitarists. As a composer and interpreter of samba and bossa nova, Powell brought both jazz flair and classical precision to the Brazilian tradition without losing its roots. Powell's phenomenal playing has influenced many artists both in and outside of Brazil.
