Drew Wackerman sat down with the Shiny and talked about drumming, punk and how he'll be playing with Tenacious D this summer as they open for Metallica. Yes, the D.
Enjoy,

Hey Mog,
I've got another entry from BR, I'm probably getting some new stuff soon. This song probably is one of my favorite "easy listening" songs. A great song, equally great whilst sung gently.
Hats off to you, Greg Graffin.
Rock out!

Hey Mog,
This is a great song by Bad Religion and probably one of the first songs I ever listened to. I got too annoyed by the cover artists on Guitar Hero singing it, the lead singer is nowhere close to the quality of the real song, so I decided for the sake of mankind to remind the world what Greg Graffin sounds like, and if you can't match him, don't try.
Rock out!

Bad Religion: New Maps Of Hell
(Epitaph 2007)
If you've heard even a chunk of the nearly 200 songs that Bad Religion have released in their 25-year, 14-album career, you know their dilemma. It's how to avoid stale rehashing when producing new permutations of the various awesome elements of their trademark sound, such as massive hooks, the acute sense of melody, and the incredible three-part vocal harmonies.
New Maps Of Hell never quite resolves the dilemma. Its first t... MORE

Credit for the post where credit's due: While I was thinking about Rocknrollpimp and David Hyman's RAWK duel, and what songs I'd march onto the arena if I weren't on the bleachers on that one, I got to thinking about a different kind of musical duel.

A digital single off the upcoming Bad Religion album, New Maps Of Hell, will be released as a for sale digital download on June 12th. The song, “Honest Goodbye,” was inspired by “the life and crimes of Perry Smith, the murderer made famous by Truman Capote's classic novel ‘In Cold Blood,’ according to the Epitaph Records web site. "The song questions how a man with seemingly gentle and artistic sensibilities comes to commit brutally heinous crimes," explains Gurewitz. "I... MORE
