The current batch of mix cds are all sewn up. It's a shame, really, when one considers that this popped into my head tonight. It's such a beaut, really, a song worth of creating an entire mix cd around. This, if memory serves, is one of the first songs from Ugly Beautiful to catch my ears. The line, "have you ever wanted to kill a screaming child" is the kind of thing that makes me abandon whatever it is I should happen to be doing, look around to make sure no one is ... MORE
I didn't miss you; I'm not the sentimental type. I'm glad you're back, though (that's not too sappy, is it?). It was a rough time, but I think we all learned a lot about ourselves, our friends, and the world at large. But now we a can all join back together, our bygones gone by, and marvel at the wonder that we (everyone on mog) are. It's about us, kids, let's enjoy it. I'd forgotten how to breathe 'til you came back,I'd forgotten how to breathe 'til you came back,I... MORE
I confess, I know nothing about the ways of the new mog. I used to be able to upload songs and make them play, for the masses, but now I hear that my uploaded songs only play for the corporations, and those who give money to the corporations. Like all poets, I opt for the monkeyhouse instead, which means, in this case, it's back to youtubes for the time beings. This goes out special, of course, to those of my chums in Brooklyn and N.B., but context clues gave t... MORE
One of my favorite things is to wallow in the misery of doomed or otherwise foiled love affairs for, say, eighty-five minutes or so at a whack. It has all the charm of one's own misery, but it seems more efficient, somehow, when you watch it in the movies. Perhaps it is the case that, as with colours, the emotions of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the big screen. What makes it all worthwhile, though, are minutes eighty-six through ninety; ha... MORE
Have you noticed that formerly prominent moggers are abruptly disappearing? Seems rather odd, don't you think?
Now, I don't want to start a panic, but it seems a logical person can't rule out the possibility of foul play. Unless, of course, said logical person was presented with a more probable explanation.
Ok, so my top spot time is winding down here, but I have seen a few marvelous posts as of late, and even a comment that got me to thinking. I have been here on mog, fighting the good fight for Babybird, but ultimately getting my ass kicked hard in said fight. As Troy points out at the above link, pretty much all of us have these bands that we want to share with the world, but damn can it be hard to spread that enthusiasm. So, it comes down to this: If you will (hopeful... MORE
From the past: This thing I have been doing for the last two years is basically just waiting. I wait around at the hall in the morning for an hour or so to find out of I am going to make a job. When I don't make a job, I wait for the night hire to come around so I can wait around for another hour or so to find out if I will get a job for the night. After not getting a job at the night hire, I wait for the morning hire to swing back around so I can start the whole t... MORE
