azam ali is an incredible vocalist. of iranian descent, having grown up in bombay, now residing in LA, she brings diverse music together. she sings, as here, in farsi, also urdu and hindi, and english.
she has produced an amazing album as part of the trio niyaz, which i might post something of. very nice textured sounds, nicely balanced with western influence. her lyrics are often sufi poetry, the niyaz album features some rumi stuff.
