Though it feels as though it's been years, Ayumi Hamasaki 's last single, "Mirrorcle World," was released a mere seven months ago. May 5th, Japanese Boys Day, Mexican Independence Day, My Brother's Birthday! Wooo Hooo. Of course for me, the latter is the most important one! Being Japanese, my mother always thought it was kewl to have her first son born on Japanese Boys Day. w00t! Ayumi's video for Part of Me is out!! It was directed by the same guy who did some of the PVs for Secret, most of which I wasn't very impressed with (apart from Momentum!). And I'm glad to say this PV is great!! It's pink and red and colourful. And I do like my bright and colourful music videos! The song is good too, better than the ballads on Secret:

Ayumi Hamasaki is the greatest J-pop singer in the world. Grnite their are plenty of others, like Koda Kumi, but I like Ayumi so much better. There is such a variety in the style of her songs, unlike any other type of music I have ever listened to.

I am going to post my thoughts on music in the UK - but there's a show on tonight with the best/most popular music of 06. So think I might watch that to refresh my memory! Ayumi Hamasaki did an interview to be shown on CNN, which was shown in a few countries, including the UK! I LOVED the interview.
