Avril Lavigne responded to the lawsuit she has been served by the 70's pop band the Rubinoos. Last week Rubinoos members Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwar slapped the 22-year-old pop star and co-writer on her hit single "Girlfriend" saying it was a direct rip-off of their 1979 tune "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend." Avril Lavigne is being sued by the 1970's pop group The Rubinoos, who say the Canadian pop star ripped off one of their songs for her hit single "Girlfriend." We assume this is the type of stuff that happens all the time when you have someone else writing your music. Why do nightclub DJs have Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend...it is the most irritating song i have ever heard yet it is continually played in clubs and for the life of me i cant figure out why?!
Also the DJ last night made it worse for himself by playing Lil Chris - Checkin' It Out after that song. Those 2 songs together can totally destroy a playlist!

I know I'm going to loose a lot of respect for saying this, but I like Avril. I haven't bought the latest one yet; her single's so different and poppy to me (in a bad way) I'm not sure if I'll like it. Her first two CDs were really good and even though they were co-wrote by men, I can really connect with a lot of her lyrics. Most of the time, I'm listening to music and am able to empathize with the artist, but with her, I'm like, "me too!" Right now, I'm listening to "Fall... MORE

So, my highschool is putting on the play Singin' in the Rain and my best friend is going to be Don Lockwood. At first he was telling me it was going to suck because the guy who is going to play Cosmo was getting high instead of coming to theater practice and then today there was a matinee for the middle school and he did everything perfectly..so I guess the drugs were helping him remember all of his lines. so I'm not sure where to go with avril lavigne right now-her song is super catchy and fun, but I can't help but feel like I hear the same songs on RadioDisney (yea, I listen to it-don't hate)the rest of her album is much the same as say Hannah Montana or Skye Sweetnam-actually almost exactly the same as Skye SweetnamHas she sold out or was she always a well packaged teen poptart?
