If you're still reading, you'll probably like Au Revoir Simone. I'm trying to come up with some plausible explanation of where I encountered this band, but I seem to have no choice but to confess to seeing them on MTV's You Heard It First (or whatever it's called). Picked up the album at Other Music today. Packaging was delightfully lo-fi. Blog post image preview 3 girls, synthesizers, and a drum machine. This album is quiet and somber but still a little upbeat. It's fun. It reminds me of Broadcast or Psapp but a little less technically complicated and more twee. Maybe like Dear Nora but with synths (not exactly but you get the idea).
