Au Revoir Simone will embark on a hellacious tour schedule tonight that will run through July. Kicking off in London and eventually touching down in over 50 cities, and 3 continents before winding down in Japan. Their new album "The Bird of Music" will be released May 15th in the U.S.

If you're still reading, you'll probably like Au Revoir Simone. I'm trying to come up with some plausible explanation of where I encountered this band, but I seem to have no choice but to confess to seeing them on MTV 's You Heard It First (or whatever it's called). 3 girls, synthesizers, and a drum machine. This album is quiet and somber but still a little upbeat. It's fun. It reminds me of Broadcast or Psapp but a little less technically complicated and more twee. Maybe like Dear Nora but with synths (not exactly but you get the idea). It's pretty straight forward electronic indy pop. I don't think there are any missteps in the album as a whole. It's upbeat at the first half and then mellows out for the second half. I read some...
