So far, 29 brave souls have filled out lists for the MOG Best of 2007 So Far. That's awesome, and I'm thankful for those that have contributed so far. I'm a bit concerned that it won't be representative of all of MOG; to be honest, it's not even 10% of those that trust me. So hopefully you guys are still debating your lists. I will be collecting lists until Monday, July 16, at the link above.

I was taking to Eddie Argos last night and he was all excited about being I, Claudius for it. From what I have seen, he makes a good cripple and parties like Caligula.

I'm quite surprised at myself, but I just can't seem to get enough of Art Brut these days. It's all so damn catchy musically, and lyrically it's as matter-of-fact, poignant, and witty as it gets. I haven't been listening to them for too long and time will tell if I'll find them to be a novelty or something more. The first album certainly left me wanting and "It's a Bit Complicated" has satisfied my craving with the same energy, attitude, trashy hooks, and meaty beats that mad... MORE

Art Brut is high speed, high-brow indie art rock at it's zenith. Their follow up to BANG BANG ROCK AND ROLL, yesterday's release IT'S A BIT COMPLICATED keeps the band par for the course it set for creating the cuttingly esoteric and the appropriately avant garde music since their debut in 2005. If I wasn't convinced with Bang Bang Rock 'n' Roll, I'm now completely convinced: Eddie Argos is my new patron saint. I listened to the new album It's A Bit Complicated yesterday, and I found it difficult to suppress a goofy smile as he sang his stories of being in love with pop music. Opening track "Pump Up The Volume" made me laugh out loud, as he talked about "breaking from a kiss, to turn up a pop song". Not that I have ever done that, but let's just say that I don't play...
