I've only recently got into Art Brut, via the new Frank Black produced album 'Vs Satan', so there were a lot of tunes in this set which I didn't know, songs which were greeted ecstatically by thousands of fans at the main stage on Friday night.
I have been singing "popular culture no longer applies to me" under my breath all day. coincidence? I think not. I think I have acquired the ability to summon things that I want (as Art Brut were previously only playing a 21+ venue in the city)...or maybe it's just that I'm signed up to a billion email lists...anyhow, the show will be on JUNE 15TH at 6PM at AMOEBA SAN FRANCISCO Art Brut - Twist...

Art Brut looks so dapper. How can you pass up such a polished look like that? So the initial review of their latest work, Art Brut vs. Satan, doesn't exactly gleam like we hoped, but courtesy of Eddie Argos' erratic storytelling/singing style, we thought you might like to investigate for yourselves.Sticking to a U.K. theme, although far from there, are Manchester Orchestra. Mean Everything T...
What's even better than seeing the energy of London's Art Brut at a music festival? Seeing them in a place like Schubas where you can feel the stage and the floors vibrating with their basslines! Lead singer Eddie Argos was in prime form with his typical showman gestures and classic pacing and rambling. Half the time, the lyrics are made up of his astute observations on life with everything ...
Art Brutby Jessica Gentile • May 13, 2009 Art BrutArt Brut vs. Satan(Downtown, 2009)Art Brut makes music about the music they love. Art Brut vs. Satan is an ode to various strains of the punk and indie scenes, as well as the DIY ethos that spur them. Heavily accented Brit Eddie Argos waxes lyrical about the lo-fi aesthetic to the point of romanticism, but rightfully so. "Slap dash for no cash,...
Art Brut has been that odd band during these days of albums that are too polished but trying to be real and organic. Make no bones about it, this band has no interest in being Arcade Fire or TV On The Radio. I like both bands but thank God, warts and all, they are more like the Ramones, The Damned or Black Flag. After two really cool and fun albums, Bang Bang Rock & Roll and It's a Bit Complica...
Eddie Argos, the frontman for fantastic band Art Brut , writes a blog (well, more of a traveling journal) over at the Eddie Argos Resource , and since he's a funny guy, there are some funny posts. Here are some recent quips from Cool Eddie. - "We finished recording 'Art Brut Versus Satan' a few days ago.It took less than two weeks. I don't know what Axl Rose's problem is - he must be very laz...
Last weekend at the Glastonbury festival, Eddie Argos of Art Brut took time out of his set to criticise lyrics by The Killers and Kings Of Leon, questioning the meaning the lyrics like “This sex is on fire” and “Are we human? Or are we dancer?” He’s entitled to do so, because they are pretty [...]
Art Brut's "Alcoholics Unanimous", the first single being taken from their upcoming album "Art Brut vs. Satan" (due 20.04.2009 in Europe on Cooking Vinyl, produced by Frank Black) ..Bring me tea!!!
Have you ever wondered how you would go about recording an album with Black Francis, in Salem OR, in 10 days? Well, here is your answer. The official guide to Art Brut vs.Satan;..
So far, 29 brave souls have filled out lists for the "+MOG Best of 2007 So Far+":http://mog.com/Dale/blog_post/91726. That's awesome, and I'm thankful for those that have contributed so far. I'm a bit concerned that it won't be representative of all of MOG; to be honest, it's not even 10% of those that trust me. So hopefully you guys are still debating your lists. I will be collecting lists unt...
