Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys has a new album out under the name The Last Shadow Puppets. The album is called The Age Of The Understatement, which has to be ironic. It sounds like Arctic Monkeys with strings and horns. If you like Arctic Monkeys and melodratic cinema scores circa 1968-1974, you will like The Last Shadow Puppets.

Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys has revealed that the band plans to work on new material this summer in preparation for a new album. Things have settled a little at work. Thank God! I need a breather. I thought I was going to explode last month. It would have not been pretty. At work we have these things called spirit points. Well, that was shit. Can't blame the band - more the dickheads (too weak a word really) who seemed less interested in fine British indie and more interested in making everyone's life a misery. Maybe we should have away with this whole live music thing - people ruin it. Ah well, Bloc Party in a few hours...
