6.5 STARS (out of 10) It's been about three years since Architecture In Helsinki released their first album Fingers Crossed in the states and a lot has changed since then. Not only has the band played with the likes of David Byrne, Belle and Sebastian, and Yo La Tengo; but they released one of the most undeniably great indie pop gems ever, In Case We Die. Where Fingers Crossed was subtle and sw...
I am one of those strange people who sometimes gets a craving for Pop music. Music I don't have to think about much and can just enjoy. I had this album in my library by Architecture In Helsinki. I had never heard of them, but was giving the album a listen and immediately was thinking "wow, this is pretty darn good pop!" Like I said, I had never heard of them before, but they have over 5 mi...

I should have written this post about a month ago, really. But, the album I'm about to talk about has just recently grown on me. Said work of songs is that of Architecture in Helsinki and their most recent work, Places Like This. The songs that stick out most are "Hold Music" and "Heart It Races", both of which are more or less singles. Each song is catchy in its own right, and good to cheer yo...
Finaly some news I'm actually excited about!Architecture In Helsinki have just anounced that their 3rd LP, 'Places Like This', will be released in Late July/ Early August. For those of you who don't know, this is pretty much the best thing ever because Architecture In Helsinki are awesome!"Just so you can memorise it, here is the tracklist": Places Like This01 Red Turned White02 Heart it Races0...
According to Polyvinyl Record's website, Architechture in Helsinki has just signed on with them for all the band's North American distro :Aussie sextet Architecture in Helsinki has joined the Polyvinyl family! I'm posting this because it's in my head and I don't mind it being in my head - and that's odd because recently it was played quite frequently at our house and by rights we should be tired of it but we're not. Last year the kids and I got inspired when we went to a local Big Lip Sync contest and they decided to enter this year, and did some excellent choreography to Heart It Races, and practic...
Two nights ago Architecture In Helsinki came to Santa Cruz. They played at a teeny tiny venue called the Rio, which is more of a movie theater than anything else, but despite the awkward arrangement I found them to be much more entertaining in concert than on any CD. These guys had personality. They had originality. They had stage presence. At one point at least twenty fans (including one in a ...

Architecture In Helsinki have gotten louder with every album. Fingers Crossed was full of hushed melodies and whispered lyrics. In Case We Die was a little louder, but still laced with that quirky pop sound. Places Like This, which was leaked onto the internet a couple weeks ago, takes on an even louder, obnoxious sound. It’s not that I don’t like change. Really, I think change can be okay, it
I bought Architecture in Helsinki Places like This and this is the second single with it´s video, and the only thing that I can say is that is a really good album not as better as the old one but this australian band amuses me with its weirds videos.
Architecture in Helsinki: Places Like This. Sounds like: Nothing I've ever heard. They are a six-piece collective from Australia with a frenetic energy that makes them completely irresistible. Live, they never stopped moving. Each time they finished a song, everyone switched instruments and they started all over again. Bonkers.Dave Gahan: Hourglass. Sounds like: Sex. His voice is so ooh. And t...
