Arab Strap "The First Big Weekend" - remix, b-side or cover?or
over 2 years ago

Hello:I am looking for a remix or cover of Arab Strap's "The First Big Weekend." It takes the refrain "Went down for the weekend / It lasted forever, etc." and turns it into a very poppy summer tune. Am not sure if it is a different band that sings it. I would greatly appreciate any info. Thanks,Luna M.

I've decided to start my own radio station. All the stations here suck anyways. I read somewhere that on certain AM bands, it's perfectly legal to broadcast without a license (whether or not there's any truth to that remains to be seen). So, I'm going to tell all my poor, musically misguided friends to shut off their ipods, buy a cheap radio, and I will proceed to live out my dream of shoving g...

I was really sad to read that Arab Strap has called it quits... one of the most underrated bands of the past decade. I wanted to write a tribute to them, but I think Said the Gramaphone says it just right.I will miss their hung-over, filthy, melancholy poetry...

Arab Strap Comp Coming

The beloved Arab Strap will be missed. But they’re leaving us one hell of a swan song. Chemikal Underground Records will release Ten Years of Tears in the U.S. Feb. 20. Not only can you reminisce in a compilation of classic weepy Arab Strap goodies but you can also revel in a handful of first time listens—and likely equally weepy—in the form of demos, b-sides, new tracks and remixes. Don’t
