Eats Darkness was released last month but I totally feel it has been under exposed. With Eats Darkness, Apostle of Hustle once again pushes the boundaries of contemporary indie rock. Based on the notion that the greatest art is often drawn from the darkest of experiences (consuming darkness to expel light), the band delivers an unconventional and truly original body of work that will continue t...

It's really hard to keep all those Broken Social Scene dudes straight. All you need to know is that Andrew Whitehouse looks like this, probably smokes more weed than your teenage little brother, and has a new album coming out May 19 with his band Apostle of Hustle, titled Eats Darkness. Fans can purchase tickets for their upcoming string of Ontario shows here, which will also include a digital ...

Apostle Of Hustle Eats Darkness is the third full-length release from the side project of Broken Social Scenester Andrew Whiteman, and is released on BSS’ flagship label, Arts & Crafts. Upon first listen, it is obvious that this album was conceived to be consumed as a whole. No, this is not a concept album, and one can’t even say that there is a particularly consistent musical congruency th

Well, it took me some time, but here I am, finally talking about not metal. :)So here we go: being back at University has left me with very little time to write or do whatever it is I do, but one must always make time for concerts. And this year, I've discoverede a gem. Just up the street from my house (in fact I can see it form my porch) is a little joint called the Starlight Lounge. And this ...

Fellow Mogger Andrew Whiteman's new album _National Anthem Of Nowhere_ is beyond good. Having purchased it from EMusic yesterday, and since giving it a few spins, I can honestly say that I loved the album, front to back. Not as "Broken Social Scene-y" as I expected. In many ways, that's a good thing. What I can label Andrew's album, I haven't the foggiest idea. Lush, poetic and beautifully dis...

I suppose I missed a great show over the weekend. I didn't really know too much about Apostle of Hustle. Then today at work, I read the all about their latest release, and how good the reviewer found it. I come home, check 'em out online, and now kick myself..... I also read today that Jacks Mannequin is coming to T.O. Feb.18th....so maybe I should check 'em out.....
