All Music GuideA huge success in Scandinavia, Antiloop's debut was a straightforward lesson in early rance and low-key acid house. While David Westerlund and Robin Soderman largely relied on other people's sounds ("In My Mind" bases itself on bands like Utah Saints, "Analogue Relaxation" on Orbital or Praga Khan), it was never clear that they used it as a cultural cash-in. LP kept to thin, efficient bass-builds and fantastically old-fashioned drum machines and organ sounds, all of which never strayed far from the band's relatively hard edge. If this frustrated those with futurist concerns, Antiloop's sound only grew in popularity over time, audibly reemerging four years later in Kai Tracid's niche album Trance & Acid.
