I found this article while researching the CD vs. vinyl debate (although this one is purely about CDs). I had always heard that CD quality music is the best technically, so I was shocked to read this. Although it's probably old news to a lot of you. I think it's pretty relevant with what's happening to major labels at the moment.

Just laid down my $ this morning at Peet's Coffee for the latest Live from the Archives CD, compiled by San Francisco radio station KFOG. I am most delighted by this live version of Angelique Kidjo singing Salala (featured below) Album also has great live tracks from folks like Rodrigo y Gabriela, Ozomatli, Ben Harper, John Doe (is that his REAL name?) and of course...Michael Franti & Spearhead, my latest musical obsession. Hello... well this is my first post an official mogger.. Although I never dabbled in "unofficial" mogging. So New album by Angelique Kiddjo, I have to say this album is earthy, and is crammed full of energy; It also boasts a list of great "featured artists" such as Josh Gorban, Alicia Keys, Joss Stone, do i need to say more? Make sure to check out the track "Gimme Shelter" ft. Joss Stone, my personal favorite on the Cd.

Have you ever just found certain artists that you fall in love with their music so much you'll beg or borrow (stealing is not an option) to see them if they every come to town? In the last week I've been lucky enough to see two of those, it started with Tyrone Wells last Tuesday and it ended with Josh Groban last night. Like I told Dale it was AHHHHHHHH-MAZE-ZING!
