Hi again and happy new year...
Just been playing some old vinyl to celebrate the new year and came across an old Stanley Clarke album called Children of Forever (1973 on Polydor PD5531). Features Chick Corea, Lenny White along with Dee Dee Bridgewater and Andy Bey on vocals. I forgot about this one!
Some choice vocals on this one from Mr Bey too...
Just joined right now. Glad to see others enjoy Andy Bey. Suggest you listen to the Horace Silver albums which feature Andy Bey's voice in breath-taking form. As for River Man, it even surpasses the Nick Drake original in my books...

Anyone here like jazz vocals? A lot of jazz vocals are a waste of time, same old songs, some dude or some chick really "goin' for it," whatever. But Andy Bey is amazing, flat out gorgeous. He has sung with Horace Silver, Stanley Clarke, McCoy Tyner, etc etc. The way he wraps his voice around syllables is intense. That kind of intense that's intense even when it's quiet. I only know this one album, and the band is smoking, Ron Carter, Victor Lewis, and Mino Cinelu. ... MORE
