It was great to get back to Koko or the Camden Palais (sic) as it was formerly known, the venue that resulted in my first drinking too much Thunderbird, Feet First, and our seminal NME quote about the Rocking Birds. The result of the multi-million pound refit was a smaller venue (unless I'd got bigger) and the complete velvet musical hall experience - with 6 ft spinning mirror ball hanging from the ceiling. I've seen scathing reviews of this album claiming that it's boring. I couldn't disagree more. I love this album. It's made my "Listen to at maximum volume" list. Oh sure, some songs start out slow, but then they kick in. A few use piano instead of guitar. Although disconcerting at first, I don't mind it. Th... MORE
