While Amy Winehouse might not like the idea of being immortalized in wax, her parents seem to be lingering to whatever last glimpse of a sane daughter they can get.

Winehouse may be working on some new music with her Back in Black producer Mark Ronson, but that doesn't mean fans are gonna be seeing a follow-up to the album anytime soon. Seems Winehouse's label Universal has given the neo-jazz singer (and boozer) an ultimatum. If she doesn't stop abusing and using they will NOT release her next album, despite her five recent Grammy wins. Amy Winehouse recently recorded a BBC One Session at Bayswater's Porchester Hall. I don't know if it has been broadcast in the UK already, but some delightful person, whose handle is UKGhettoPrincess, has posted the clips on YouTube. The sound and the visual are slightly out of synch, but both are of pretty good quality. So go and enjoy yourself silly. (You'll also see that Amy has moments of endearingly awkward stage dancing).

I've recently been swooned in by Amy Winehouse's classic jazz style voice. Her lyrics are simple yet modern. She eloquently avoids the cliche turns of phrase and serves up a sweet dose of textured imagery. "lick your lips while i soak my feet.." Raw and exposed. I am taken by her for now.

My mom and brother have made long, long trips from their locations to visit me for the holidays.
