Here is a useless bit of Blair trivia for ya...i have 34 songs with California in the title, only 6 Ohio songs. Can you name the super six? Yes...its is that boring here.
Leave it to Mark Eitzel to give such a hopeful, optimistic song an edge of angst.

San Francisco based American Music club have announced they will release The Golden Age in February 2008. The album is proceeded by 2004's Love Songs for Patriots(Merge), which broke the group's ten year hiatus. AMC mainstays Mark Eitzel and Vudi team up with "the new guys" Sean Hoffman and Steve Didelot for this the 9th full length recording from American Music Club. As a North American living in the Netherlands, I am provided with a privledge of a ton of things I probably couldn't do if I were living back America. Aside from the obvious tolerated soft drug policies, I can see bands that play bigger venues in the States perform at smaller clubs in Europe. I've seen Bob Mould with 120 people in the crowd. American Music Club - Everclear CD The difficult fifth album. Recorded for another label and well overbudget, Everclear both suffers and excels for its production shortcomings. A thick wash of reverb has been thrown over the proceedings and songs are either hopelessly buried in the ambient sludge ("The Confidential Agent") or enhanced to supersonic glory ("Sick of Food"). In the early '90s, the American Music Club ruled the San Francisco underground. In the South of Market world where they lived and worked, the members of AMC were stars. American Music Club are one of the great San Francisco bands. They were indie before anyone really used that term.
This track, "Rise," is very powerful, and is off Everclear.
