Heavy Lifting Ambulance LTD are another band, out of the New York area, that was snapped up in the wake of Interpol's massive success. After a short homonymous EP in 2003, they released their full-length album, simply titled LP, in April 2004. Ambulance LTD is a band from New York, so why they remain fairly obscure is beyond me, since it seems like every halfway decent band from the Big Apple gets hyped ad naseum. Maybe it's because they don't have a very engaging live show (I only saw them once, at Coachella, and they were less than riveting) or maybe it's because they don't have a particularly quirky or distinctive sound.
