It has been a while since I have really gotten excited for a record release. In fact when I was asked to make a list of my favorite records of 2008, I put Against Me! at the top of that list even though New Wave came out in 2007. I don't know if I have become more selective in my old age, but it seems there has not been an album this year to really grab my ear to make me listen. Today I was going to head out to my first live show in months. It may have even been a year, I am not really sure. I guess the reason for my departure from live shows has been a direct result of having a young boy at home. A lot of things have been put on the shelf as of late, and heading out to see live music seems to have really taken a hit. It is Sunday night and for the first time in a long time I have no school work to do. This is a big event for me, usually my Sunday nights are busy with correcting papers, lesson planning and filling out my weekly progress reports. This Sunday is different and I know tomorrow morning I will not have to wake up at my usual time in order to go into work.

So here is starts my moaning about the weather... ok today isn't all that bad, it's just that I know I have a couple of months of sweat ahead of me, constant brow wiping, consumption of water and these days I can also look forward to a couple of months of constant explaining the reality of vomit inducing headaches caused by Air Conditioning Units along with their faint chemical smell is poison to me...
