"Omega is the Alpha" is far from the greatest jazz I've ever heard. It's repetitive, it's simple, and it jumps in out out of time. But that doesn't matter. This song isn't just a song. It's not just music. It's a celebration. It's life-affirming and glorious. "Omega is the Alpha" and Albert Ayler got me through a tumultuous time and I'm glad we made that trip together.

Hi, The "Sound Unseen" film festival starts up next week here in Minneapolis. This is an annual festival where all the films are about music/musicians. This year has one of the better lineups in recent memory. Some stuff I'm gonna try and check out this time: - "Monks: The Transatlantic Feedback": Gary Burger is even travellin' down from Bemidji for a short set after the screening. This should be cool.
