Have you heard of this band, Alabama 3 (or A3 as they're known in the US)? I haven't heard their music yet, but I definitely need to check them out. A press release I received today claims the founding members met at a house party in London where one was "singing Hank Williams songs over pounding house beats." OK, I'm intrigued! It goes on to say:

A quiet Sunday follows the last ultimate hoorah, a SXSW Saturday. I’ll miss it all, especially the catching up with old friends who flew down from all points on the map and the constant blaring of live music from every direction. But it was a great rid wasn't it? I don't watch a lot of TV, so its always sad to see a great show guy...but like Neil Young says...better to burn out than fade away. I always knew I was an old soul

Well, we've just about reached another landmark in the world of TV. On Sunday, HBO will air the final episode of the critically-acclaimed drama series The Sopranos. Being of Italian-American lineage, I never was really all that bothered by the stereotypes used in the show, as it wasn't the first time I had seen Italian-Americans portrayed in a less than glorious light in a Hollywood production and there's no reason to deny the existence of the real mob (see here). ... I watch VERY little tv, so when a show that I have made a point to watch every Sunday night for several years comes to an end, it's a big deal.

I would have had a total migraine today....or worse, had I not brought my mp3 player with me to my nephew's basketball game.For the love of GOD, these parents are insane...you would think the way they were verbally abusing the poor refs(who I am sure are not getting rich officiating basketball games in a league of 9 and 10 year olds) that we were watching the 7th game of the NBA finials, not a kids rec league.Idiots.
