--- - |- On the cusp of summer and my full-time employment, I impart to you, my faithful readers this creation of mine, the dance mix antidote. But wait? Don't I largely support dance music? Yes, but dance music is largely loud energetic and entices you to move. Which are all great things that I will continue to revel in at almost every opportunity, but you know what? Sometimes I get tired. I ...

With the release of Air's fifth full-length album, J.B. Dunckel discusses his experience working with Nigel Godrich, his desire to score the next Bond film, and his fear that in the future, anyone can sound like Elvis."I will do the best I can to sound clever." The above sentence is a strange thing for a rock star to promise at the start of an interview, but then again, J.B. Dunckel's group, th...
We posted THIS last week about French duo Air and their newest upcoming LP Love 2 and though it's track-listing was available, it's artwork eluded us at the time. Now, the front-cover has been confirmed and if you just so happen to look at the bottom of this very article, you will indeed see said artwork.
Air, would you believe it, are on their sixth studio album and have been creating their mix of down-tempo electronica and ambient French-pop for nearly fifteen years now. From the elegance of 1998's Moon Safari and 2004's Talkie Walkie to the confused disappointment of the 2007's Pocket Symphony, the pair have had their fair share of musical ups-and-downs over their decade and a half together a...
It may not really be so late where you are, hell it might be early. But right here now is just that time of might. I had this cd years ago and sold it. Dumb. I use to use it for nightime I need to go to sleep music. Worked every time.

Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicolas Godin, will release their fifth studio album Love 2 on October 5th. Nestled in the leafy backstreets of northern Paris, Atlas provided a creative haven for the band to produce these twelve new songs, which they wrote, performed, recorded and produced by themselves. These recording sessions again saw the band handling [...]

All is not what it seems in American suburbia. I can't believe I have made it to number 8 in this series and NOT used a Sofia Coppola example yet! The use of Air's music as a score for the troubled suburb that was the setting for Coppola's movie 'The Virgin Suicides' was brilliant...and no song was as perfect as 'Playground Love.'
I just discovered this sweet song from Air, Cherry Blossom Girl. I prefer this Hope Sandoval version. There's something about this chanteuse's voice that slays me every time she sings. Hope has one of the most unique and memorable voices that clings to you like an everlasting lover's kiss.

Earlier today I was looking at a slideshow of photographs of people who died in 2008. They were all, of course, famous people who had been photographed hundreds of times throughout the course of their lives, and in almost every instance the photo they were memorialized with in this slideshow was one depicting them during the prime of their lives. With only a few strange exceptions, the photog...
