We only managed to get back to OKC for Christmas 2006 by talking my work into granting a temporary transfer to the Target on May Ave in OKC. So I worked 8 hour days there, bumping into all sorts of old friends who were shocked that I wasn't in Florida. A few people thought Erika and I had broken up.

Air is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their 1998 release Moon Safari with an expanded special limited edition.
The original album went multi-platinum so for the re-release the band is adding some bonus remixes and rarities. The re-issue will make its way to stores on March 31st via Virgin.
In addition to the extra cuts recorded for Live on the BBC and KCRW, a DVD documentary and bound book will come with the re-issue.

Air - Pocket Symphony
It starts out gorgeous from the beginning. 'space maker' is a beautiful track with the head of moon safar and the polish of talkie walkie. then wave your tearful goodbyes because the rest is a big departure for them. not the brain melting, weirdly thrilling freakout that was 10,000 hz legend, they're very much in control. The other day I 'm driving home with my MP3 player on Random (I never get around to building playlists - life's too short). On comes "Run" by Air. I'm really enjoying it and thinking "wow, this reminds me so much of "I'm Not In Love" by 10CC".

Two major groups and several minor groups share the common name Air. Chronologically, the first major band was the jazz trio with its roots steeped in Chicago's Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), and was formed originally in 1971 or 1972; the second is the French band that formed in 1995. Dunno why, but I love these guys. Every album I've sampled is pretty different from the rest. They definitely keep you guessing.
The Virgin Suicides soundtrack is also quite good, although a little repetitive. (the nature of most soundtracks)

Frenchies Air have released the single for "Mer Du Japon" a track off their latest and fifth studio album Pocket Symphony on iTunes. The song has been remixed not once, but thrice! The first remix has new vocals from the duo (Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel), while the remaining two remixes come from Kris Menace and The Teenagers.
