After his previous album, Io Non So Parlar d'Amore, had sold almost two million copies and stayed 100 weeks in the Italian charts, Adriano Celentano decided not to change the winning formula and here he again relied on the songwriting team of Mogol and Gianni Bella. The result is another success -- the record sold over a million copies and received Europe's Platinum Award in 2001. The opening track, "Per Averti," sets the tone for the album -- melodic Italo pop with simple lyrics about love and women. The notable exceptions are the sarcastic "Sono un Uomo Libero" (I Am a Free Man), in which the singer muses on his place in the modern world, and the dirge "Il Figlio del Dolore" (The Son of Sorrow), sung in duet with Nada.
