I can’t remember things sometimes. Like if there is an "r" in the word surprise between the "u" and the "p" or what nights of the week are garbage nights. I would think that this form of "not remembering" would fall in the category of short term memory loss, but considering that I haven’t been able to chisel these tiny rules of thumb into my brain for years -- and it seems I never will -- I think they fall into the long term memory loss category by now.
