311 .....rarely will you ever find a band that people are so passionate about loving/hating. I personally like the band, but I go on spells of 6 months to a year that I can not hear their music. I don't know what it is....P-nut, Chad Sexton, & Tim Mahoney are all good musicians. It's 2:05 a.m as I write this. I recently discovered 311, despite the fact that I had heard about them for quite some time, I'm just now getting to listen to them. I'm a little backed up, music-wise. So much that I was beginning to feel overwhelmed. It started with pop music. Those annoying, catchy songs everyone has heard that cling to the inside of your cranium like crazy glue. For those of you who do not radio, I hope you never know this type of torture. Unfortunately I will not be going to 311 day any longer. My husband started a wonderful new job and is unable to attend the concert. Ofcourse he would not mind if I went without him but I would rather stay at home and steal happy hours with him...besides 311 always stops in to our town and throws down. No worries....

this is a special day. it is a day dedicated to one band, a band that rocks harder than most with a positive message. 311 day is held in new orleans, LA, it is a all day groove and a six hour concert. This will be my first time attending this great show. I will report back with more details as they come.

My friends brother , Chris Sweeney, died tragically back in July. He planned on going to the upcoming 311 show about a week later 7/29/07 at the Tweeter Center. One of Chris's friends got in contact with 311 and they dedicated "Dont Tread On Me" to Chris. If anyone has a video or sound recording of that song at that concert please let me know because, I would like to give it to Chris's Sister. RIP

So, last week I had the amazing opportunity (thanks to my brother for the tickets) to see 311 and Matisyahu!!The cool thing is, I've been a pretty big 311 fan for years ... probably about 11 or 12 ... and this was my first time seeing them in concert. And they were, comepletely, amazing! I was so impressed at their undeniable musical prowess - not that I had any real doubts, mind you. Bass Update: P-Nut II Signature Bass After P-Nut stopped by to check out his new signature bass, he decided to make a change with the electronics. He has fallen in love with the pickups and preamp on his last signature bass, so he decided to put that killer combo on his new bass. Music is an art that I relate to but don't have the creativity or ability to create myself. I love the lyrics that are placed together to create emotion that the creator related to at one point in his/her life and it just so happens that many many others also relate to those exact words. The music that enthralls the lyrics is amazing on another level. The music puts more emotion and emphasis into the meaning and actually sets the mood for the song. There are many songs... MORE
