So by now everyone knows about Chuck Phillips, the LA Times writer who has had two major stories debunked due to faulty sources. In 2007 he claimed Biggie supplied the gun used to kill 2pac Shakur. Also, last month he claimed Diddy had prior knowledge to 2pac's robbery in New York City. Hip hop video blogger Jay Smooth put together this 2 minute video as a plea for Chuck Phillips to retire from the world of investigative hip hop journalism, it's definitely worth a look.

Jimmy Rosemond, who manages The Game, is calling for Chuck Phillips of the LA Times to lose his job. Phillips wrote a controversial piece implicating Rosemond as a central figure in the robbery of 2pac in 1994. Chuck also claimed that Diddy knew details of the attack before it happened. A report published in today's LA Times alleges that Sean "Diddy" Combs and the Notorious B.I.G. had prior knowledge to 2pac's 1994 robbery before it took place. As we all know, 2pac's robbery in NY's Quad Studio ended with him being shot five times. He survived his wounds, but that attack triggered his rivalry with biggie, and ultimately led to both men losing their lives. Mr. Frost recently reported in MOG news that 2Pac's mother, Afeni Shakur, made a deal to share his publishing catalog including a plethora of unreleased songs and poems. Afeni said she would continue working closely with the publisher, but "after 10 years, I have done as much as I can on my own to further the creative aspect of Tupac’s music." A forty three year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with defacing a statue of Tupac Shakur at the Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Kenneth Anthony Wilson was charged with second degree criminal damage to property, which is a felony.

In Lucy O'Brien's new book Madonna: Like An Icon which details the life of the pop queen, she reveals that Madonna and the late Tupac Shakur almost had a child. The seventh annual top earning dead celebrities list was released by Forbes magazine, and as usual musicians riddled the chart. Elvis and John Lennon took the top two spots, which is of no surprise. The statue of legendary rapper 2pac was vandalized twice in the last week, once with a noose hung around its neck. The statue, located at Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Atlanta, Georgia was also defaced with hateful comments. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being held in custody. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office is investigating this as a hate crime.

Evergreen Copyrights bought the writers share of Tupac Shakur's publishing catalog this week, affording them the fruits of more than 350 commercially released songs, poems, and albums worth of unreleased material, Billboard reports. Alright this is a good one. Not because the song sampled is vague, but because the sample doesn't dominate the beat. You have to listen for it. It's so quick, that I don't know if Pac even had to pay for this one.
If you're missing it, listen especially to the short harmonica part at the hook, and the first couple notes following it.

Universal Music Group and Afeni Shakur's Amaru Records have been hit with a $10 million by R&B/Jazz singer Esther Williams. Williams claims both Ghostface Killah & 2pac Shakur used her music without permission on shakurs "Late Night" and Ghostface's "Last Night Skit". Williams oringinal song "Last Night Changed It All" was released in 1976.
