I was doing a little websurfing today when I stumbled across LA's Hotel Cafe website. Hotel Cafe is a performance venue in Hollywood that's been listed on Paste Magazine's Top 40 music venues. Recently I’ve discovered that I can watch some of the movies from the Netflix catalog on their website. Because of this I’ve seen stuff that I wouldn’t normally rent, like the Roky Erickson documentary “You’re Gonna Miss Me.” The film is a sad portrait of the former singer/songwriter of the 13th Floor Elevators and it details his long battle with drugs, the law, and insanity. Hey, a blast from before my time.. "You're Gonna Miss Me" by 13th Floor Elevators.. A band that has become a regular in my record rotation over the past year or so. I am a brand new MOG person, 'guy' or whatever.. So I thought what better way to start off by posting a great phsycadellic rock song..
