The illustrious ivylander recently said in a comment on one of my posts, "Songs always sound better in the sun." How right he was. Today was my last full day here on Kauai with the family, and I spent a long afternoon at one of the many picturesque beaches here. Had the iPod on shuffle again, and Lindsey Buckingham's "All My Sorrows" happily entered the playlist. Hearing this song in a tropical setting, with the sun shining and the surf crashing, was a revelation. A great tune, dripping with heartfelt regret, but also hinting at a kind of ironic hope for the future through forgetfulness. And a chatty gecko here in my unit just made that freaky "barking" noise to signal his assent.
Back to the grind soon, folks. Until then, dig on this sunset shot...
