The Results Are In

Posted over 4 years ago
I spent another day adrfit in the grooves of various records from my collection (or whatever the digital equivalent of that metaphor would be). I picked up "Jason Falkner's Presents Author Unknown":http://mog.com/morgannels/blog_post/88150#comment-358675 and "Brightblack Morning Light":http://mog.com/morgannels/blog_post/88150#comment-358987 as recommended yesterday. While both are very good albums that I look forward to exploring further, neither really served my stoned purposes. The Jason Falkner is too busy and closed, and the Brightblack Morning Light is too static.I had better luck with Gui Boratto's Chromophobia, but yesterday's real winner was Led Zeppelin's first album--adventurous, lively, and still fresh. This was all the more surprising when I followed that album with Led Zeppelin II and Led Zeppelin III, which I usually think of as better albums, but which sounded tired and hokey by comparison.
