Covers Corner: A Cure-ious Redo

Posted over 2 years ago
I was wondering of a way I could share my love of cover tunes with the MOG masses and since my recent posts featuring covers by Björk and The Cardigans garnered more comments than others, I felt I'd found my niche... so here goes! The first cover I will share with you is from French band Nouvelle Vague. This is a really cool group that covers 80s new wave and punk tunes in a 60s bossa nova style. The tune they are covering is "A Forest" from The Cure's 1980 album "Seventeen Seconds." It was featured on Nouvelle Vague's 2004 self-titled album, which also features covers of tunes by XTC and Depeche Mode, among others.Enjoy!

  6. Hermes says Sometimes the covers are better than the originals. So keep on going your little series ;). I like the "Guns of brixton" song of them a lot, but this one is very good too.
