Wow! 3 posts in one day... it'd be a over a month since I'd said anything before today, so I guess I am filled with the spirit. On that note, I thought I'd end the day with a post about some music that brightens up my holiday every year.My all-time favorite Christmas album is the collaboration featuring folk singer-songwriter John Denver and The Muppets, which was released in 1979, the year I was born. Not only do Jim's Henson's lively felt beings and the late Mr. Denver perform traditional Christmas tunes like "Deck the Halls" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", but there are even some original compositions that are bittersweet and memorable. My sister and I wore out the old audio cassette that our parents bought us when we younger, so we've both re-upped with a CD copy, which I've seen in the $5 Christmas music bargain bins over the last few years, although this limited edition with extra tracks is the one I recommend (and it's only $5.47).Here's a video of Denver and The Muppets performing "Twelve Days of Christmas" on the adjoining holiday TV special:And here are a few of the tracks from the album for your enjoyment.See the top of the post for "Christmas is Coming" featuring Piggy, Scooter, Gonzo and others.
