Memoirs of a Geisha

This has got to be one of the most beautiful soundtracks I've ever heard. I haven't seen the movie yet, but now I really want to.Next up is the 2 disc Babel soundtrack. It's got several tracks by Gustavo Santaolla, so I'm sure I'll love it. Again, I have yet to see the movie. So many exams, so little fun time. :(It's strange listening to these songs before seeing the films. I almost never do this. I've got a friend who will buy a soundtrack and listen to it religiously; when she knows it by heart, she goes to see the movie. She likes it because it lets her know what to expect. To me, it seems like buying a new book and skipping straight to the last sentence.

  3. Rawkkiddoh says Another great soundtrack you might want to check out is the one from Layer Cake. I think it was only released in the UK, but you can get it off Amazon. Awesome movie, and the music is picked out perfectly.

  4. mister gary at work again says I've had more than a few movies where I've listened to the soundtrack well before I saw the flick (and actually, I think there have been a few times when I've bought/downloaded/religiously worshipped a soundtrack without **ever** seeing the movie), heh. Based two or three 20-second song snippets I heard in a trailer I saw for a 2005 'modern' remake of the anime flick Appleseed, I bought the double-disc soundtrack and fell in lust with both the modern disc and the 'score', as well. Of course, it then took me about eight months from there to actually watch the movie.

  5. haggardpilot says I didn't realize you liked it so much. I love listening to that when I'm just laying in bed doing nothing. I should have bought the movie with super discount. oh well.
