well friends and fellow moggers, I returned from the video shoot in san fran with a bit of eye makeup still smudged around my temples, a headache from quick turns on the coastal road to stinson beach, ca and from having a camera inches from my face for 2 days... and it was ... fun. But who knows what the video will look like? I hope it's cool. I don't even recollect now what might be on those reels and tapes of footage. But no worries... i did a keen job of lip sync-ing. Yipeeeeee. Now home sweet home where things go back to normal. I don't cake on THAT much eye make-up, and I've returned to my usual duties of slacking at work and trying hard to excersize when it's 95 degrees and smoggy. But things help like -- softer nights when it's only 85 degrees and i can share a makers mark at a good pub in decatur - and write some cool new tunes in my very air conditioned little studio in sound proofed bliss... i've been checking out the website Pandora.com. they have an interesting idea.I made a radio station called "pete yorn" and it played a lot of cool songs and artists I'd never heard. Other ones were a little less successful, or maybe because I have a problem listening to females with high pitched whiney voices... I chose Mindy Smith - but thats one thing- when someone has a unique voice like that... it's hard to find 100 other Mindy Smith's... so sometimes you get something that sounds nothing like her, just a female, singing a folk song... and sometimes that can be really really bad. Every now and then, though, it's surprising and my ears perk up and go HEY!So it's fun for a music nerd like me to hear completely un-recognizable artists that are soooo good. Like me I suppose. I hope my tunes find their way into people's radio stations there... wonder who I'd pop up on that screen with? Hmmm... David Gahan? hahaa
